The CSIAMUN World Health Organization (WHO) provides a forum for delegates to debate and develop solutions to pressing global health issues, reflecting the role of the real WHO as the United Nations’ leading health authority. This committee is ideal for students passionate about addressing health inequalities and exploring the intersection of science and diplomacy—whether in fields such as medicine, biomedical research, public health, or international law. This year’s agendas—enhancing transparency in the pharmaceutical sector to ensure equitable access to medicines and integrating telemedicine to advance the NCD Compact—will push delegates to merge scientific insight with diplomatic negotiation to craft practical, fair, and sustainable outcomes.

Combating Antimicrobial Resistance through a One Health Approach

The overreliance on antimicrobials in healthcare and agriculture accelerates drug-resistant pathogens, posing a critical threat to global public health. Delegates will leverage a unified “One Health” framework to align animal, human, and environmental health sectors against antimicrobial resistance.

Overcoming Infrastructure Barriers to Ensure Equitable Healthcare Access in Informal Settlements

Rapid urbanization has led to the expansion of informal settlements, where severe infrastructure deficits—such as clean water, transport networks, and medical facilities—severely restrict access to healthcare. This physical and institutional isolation prevents effective resource allocation, driving systemic health inequities and accelerating disease transmission among vulnerable populations. Delegates will evaluate multilateral strategies to overcome these barriers, leveraging mobile health, community-based care, and inclusive financing to ensure equitable healthcare access regardless of settlement status.

Greetings, delegates!

It is a great honor and privilege to serve as the Chair of the World Health Organization (WHO) at this year’s CSIAMUN. My name is Heeyun Youn, and I am currently a junior at CheongShim International Academy.

Throughout the three days of the conference, delegates of the WHO will engage in meaningful debates, thoughtful discussions, and active collaboration on two significant global health issues: combating antimicrobial resistance through a One Health approach and overcoming infrastructure barriers to ensure equitable healthcare access in informal settlements. As Chair, my goal is to create an inclusive and engaging committee environment where every delegate feels encouraged to express their ideas, challenge different perspectives, and contribute to constructive debate.

CSIAMUN provides delegates with an opportunity not only to strengthen their skills in diplomacy, public speaking, and negotiation, but also to develop a deeper understanding of complex global issues. I hope that this conference will allow each delegate to move beyond simply representing a country’s position and instead think critically about how international cooperation can lead to realistic and effective solutions.

As your Chair, I look forward to seeing each of you actively participate in committee, bring forward creative and well-researched ideas, and work together toward producing thoughtful and practical resolutions.

Greetings, distinguished delegates!

It is my utmost honor and privilege to welcome you all as the Deputy Chair of the World Health Organization (WHO) for this year’s CSIAMUN. My name is Gyeongheon Kim, and I’m currently a sophomore at CheongShim International Academy.

As your Deputy Chair, my mission is to foster an inclusive, stimulating, and intellectually inspiring environment alongside the Head Chair. I’m dedicated to ensuring that every creative vision, innovative policy proposal, and unique perspective is heard, ultimately culminating in comprehensive and impactful resolutions.

CSIAMUN serves as a premier platform for tomorrow’s global leaders to refine their diplomatic acumen, challenge conventional thinking, and collaborate on actionable solutions to systemic global issues. I strongly encourage all delegates to immerse themselves in these vital discussions with passion and open-mindedness.
