The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), established in 2006, is a key intergovernmental body within the United Nations system responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights around the globe. Composed of elected member states, the Council addresses situations of human rights violations and makes recommendations to mitigate systemic injustice. In this MUN session, the UNHRC will address critical and evolving human rights crises, ranging from the legal protections of climate-displaced populations to the eradication of exploitation in global supply chains. The goal is to safeguard fundamental freedoms and human dignity amidst complex geopolitical, environmental, and economic challenges. As delegates, you will be called upon to represent your assigned nations’ priorities while finding common ground for global solutions. We encourage you to think critically, collaborate effectively, and propose innovative yet practical resolutions. The UNHRC is a platform not just for debate, but for change, and that change begins with you.

Discussing The Rights of “Climate Migrants” and the Legal Definition of Refugees
As climate disasters displace millions, victims often lack recognized refugee status under existing international frameworks. Delegates will address structural protection gaps, evaluating how to expand legal definitions to safeguard forced climate migrants while balancing national sovereignty and asylum capacities.

Eliminating Child Labour in Global Supply Chains : Corporate Accountability and State Responsibility
Economic pressures continuously drive child labor through intricate global supply chains, often hidden behind multi-tiered subcontracting. Delegates will examine state regulatory duties and enforce mandatory corporate duediligence to dismantle exploitation and protect children’s fundamental rights.

It is truly an honor and I am incredibly grateful to serve as your Head Chair of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for this year’s CSIAMUN. My name is Daisy Jimin Ahn, a junior at CheongShim International Academy.
Throughout the three days of the conference, the delegates of UNHRC will engage in thought-provoking debates, meaningful discussions, and collaborative efforts surrounding two of the most pressing human rights issues facing our world today. As your Head Chair, my goal is to create an engaging and inclusive environment where every delegate feels empowered to voice their perspectives, challenge ideas, and contribute to meaningful solutions.
CSIAMUN brings together young leaders from around the world not only to strengthen their skills as delegates, but also to become thoughtful and open-minded global citizens. I hope UNHRC becomes a space where delegates can look beyond their own perspectives, listen to the experiences of others, and engage in meaningful conversations about the protection of human rights.
As your Head Chair, I am especially excited to witness the diverse perspectives, passionate debates, and creative ideas that each of you will bring to the committee. More than simply reaching a resolution, I hope we can create a committee where disagreements become opportunities to learn, collaboration becomes a strength, and every voice contributes to a meaningful outcome.

Greetings, delegates!
It is my utmost privilege and pleasure to welcome you all as your deputy chair for the Human Rights Council at this year’s CSIAMUN. My name is Bomyeong Kim, and I am currently a freshman attending CheongShim International Academy.
Over the course of our conference, the delegates of HRC will dive deep into pressing international challenges, exchanging bold perspectives and constructing impactful solutions together. As your deputy chair, I am dedicated to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment alongside our chair—a space where every delegate feels empowered to speak up, challenge ideas, and shape meaningful diplomacy.
CSIAMUN is far more than a debate stage; it is a platform for emerging global leaders to broaden their horizons and critical thinking skills. I encourage each of you to step into council with confidence, open minds, and a drive to collaborate on issues that demand urgent global attention.
