UNESCO contributes to peace and security by unlocking the full potential of education, science, culture, and information in a global perspective while also striving to eliminate discrimination and provide equal opportunities and knowledge to every individual. To achieve this goal, UNESCO sets guidelines in natural and social sciences and supports researchers’ international cooperation. The organization also works to eradicate discrimination in education and media and provides policy and financial support to cultural minorities and their heritages.
